What comes to mind when you think of fun island? Wait, scratch that—I don’t want to know. But perhaps part of the image that’s conjured in your head when you thought of that combination of words had something to do with uncorking a beverage or two. Well, in terms of the “Fun Island” on the aft deck of Azimut’s brand new Seadeck line, you’re at least halfway correct.
Fun island is the builder’s nickname for the Seadeck 6’s aft deck which will be, interestingly enough, made of cork. Azimut is using cork, they noted, instead of teak as a conscientious decision, being that cork trees do not need to be deforested for their wood and are capable of being harvested for bark at least 17 times in a single cork tree’s life. You might be asking yourself, what’s fun about that?
