The Dutch marine brand introduced a new range of electric propulsion systems for small boats

Vetus, the Dutch marine electrification pioneer, particularly known for its thrusters, unveiled a new line of electric propulsion motors at boot Düsseldorf. Available in three sizes, the EAIR04024, EAIR040 and EAIR060—which provide 4kW at 34 volts, 4kW at 48 volts and 6kW at 48 volts, respectively—are intended for repower projects or for use in new hulls up to 26 feet.

The E-line Air models weigh just 143.3 lbs. All motors are 1:1 direct drive, meaning the propeller spins at the same speed as the motor and because there is no gearbox allows for seamless shifting between forward and reverse.

Vetus offers a selection of Deep-Cycle, AGM deep-cycle and lithium batteries for its electric propulsion solutions. The E-drive systems are compatible with NMEA2000 solutions from Vetus that will allow users to see real time battery charge.
