William Hand Motor Launch

Description:

This custom-built wooden motor launch is 21′ in length, with a 6′ beam and a draft of 18″. It is powered by a 25-hp Honda four-stroke outboard, encased in cabinetry at the stern. The launch was built by the Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding to my specifications, following the concept of Harry Bryant’s Handy Billy shown in three issues of WoodenBoat magazine. This William Hand style motor launch is framed in purpleheart (Peltogyne) and elegantly dressed in Honduras mahogany, decks inlaid in Douglas fir and hull in western red cedar. All fittings are in polished bronze bright work. This launch took a little over a year to build by Master Boatbuilder Richard Wilmore and his students from Australia and New Zealand. Together they not only crafted a classic wooden boat, but a work of art, as so many viewers over the years have characterized my boat. The launch has been garage-kept when not on the water and is in excellent condition. In 2023, the hull was painted, decks and interior varnished, and the engine fully serviced. Asking for best offers over $21,000.
